For those of you that don't know me, my name is Anthony and since the beginning of 2014 I have been studying to become an Accredited Exercise Physiologist (AEP) at QUT. With my university degree drawing to a close I have begun taking up a more active role in the CrossFit 4000 community through coaching and training.
At this stage of my degree I have basically completed all the requirements of the degree, and have recently been hired as an Exercise Physiologist at a clinic in Kelvin Grove. I wanted to take this opportunity to offer my skillset to this community in the form of 1-on-1 sessions.
As an Exercise Physiologist I have a unique skillset that will be perfect for helping the CrossFit 4000 community achieve their goals. Some of the key areas that I have the ability to aff ect change is:
• Improving Mobility - this could be shoulders, ankles or hips to name a few common locations. I know for a lot of people this area is one you want to improve.
• Correcting Imbalances - commonly seen in squats and deadlifts, this is something that has the potential for reducing injury risk.
• Rehabilitation - this could be returning from a recent injury, an old injury or a just little niggle you’ve had for a while that wont go away.
These are just some examples of the things that I feel will benefit the community. All of these things have a direct impact on your health and wellbeing as well as your performance in WODs. I believe that for most people I have the capacity to help you with the knowledge and experience I have gained the past few years through a unique ability to understand and see things in your movement. There are two options we have for 1-on-1 sessions if you are interested, which are:
Sessions at Exercise Physiology Brisbane
This option would be a bit more formal with an initial assessment, which includes postural and functional assessments to determine the areas we need to focus on, and then sessions planned around the results.
Sessions at CrossFit 4000
This option would be a little more variable. It could follow a similar session plan as EPB, or it could also be as casual as you like it, depending on what you want to get out of the session.
Over the past few weeks, I have spoken to quite a few members of the community about things I have noticed and given some exercises or tips on how to correct them, I’m hoping this was helpful as this is the type of thing I do.
For anyone that may be interested then please get in contact and we can discuss prices, which option you’d prefer and any other questions you may have. I am really excited to get to work with you, because I know that you all are driven to improve yourselves and it is exciting to think about the possibilities we can achieve together.
I'm busy working on my blog posts. Watch this space!
